Tribute to Justine Decourselle, "The race against oblivion"

Justine Decourselle, a nurse and marathon runner, passed away on Thursday 15 October at the age of 26.

A leader of the La course contre l'oubli project, Justine ran more than 1,500 km from the city of La Muette, site of the former Drancy internment camp, to Auschwitz on the tracks of convoy no. 71 which left on 13 April 1944.

Committed and determined, her project was to continue her exceptional journey: a new race scheduled for 2027 from Montpellier to Drancy, in tribute to the children of Izieu.

The Shoah Memorial salutes the memory of an exceptional young woman who marked us during her visit to the Shoah Memorial and whom we supported. We offer our condolences to his family, loved ones and his companion Jérémy.
