Jean-Marc Todeschini awards the Legion of Honor to the special promotion 'Memories of the Deportation'

Jean-Marc Todeschini, Secretary of State to the Minister of Defense, in charge of Veterans and Memory, presented the Legion of Honor to 29 recipients of the special class "Memories of the deportation", in the salons of the military governor of Paris, on Friday, June 10, 2016.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the camps, the government wanted to pay tribute to the merits of 80 people who experienced the Deportation and who found the strength to testify especially among young people about the horrors they suffered. Thus, the distinguished recipients within this promotion have been working for years with constancy and imagination to transmit the memory of the Deportation in all its forms.
