NEW! Architectural tour of the Memorial – Building against oblivion.

As Justin Godart, Honorary President of the Committee of the Unknown Jewish Martyr, said, "a monument (...) is the lighthouse, the milestone on the path to the future, it indicates the road of tomorrow that must no longer see what it commemorates, and for this, which must not forget." This architectural tour retraces the history of the construction of the Memorial from 1953 to the present day. Which actors, which choices, what challenges? It is an unprecedented journey that will lead us to the discovery of materials and symbols hidden behind each stone.

Around the exhibition

The cultural activities of the Shoah Memorial offer you a meeting on "Alfred Dreyfus, from yesterday to today"

Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:30 PM

In 1894, the arrest and trial of Captain Dreyfus showed a collapse of the principles of justice resulting from an authoritarian state. Dreyfus’s guilt was proclaimed even before his trial. Anti-Semitism no longer targets only Jews; it threatens the Republic. Through the press, posters and contemporary films of the Dreyfus affair, this meeting offers an exploration of this major event that deeply divided French society and whose teaching can today help us fight against antisemitism.

In the presence of Laurent Bihl, senior lecturer in history at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Vincent Duclert, historian, researcher at EHESS, and Dimitri Vezyroglou, professor of film history at the Université de Lorraine.
