Hiroshima study day at the Memorial Friday, November 17, 2017

As part of the "Disaster Tourism" project and on the occasion of the visit to Paris of the director of the Hiroshima Museum, a study day on the Hiroshima disaster is organized at the Memorial on Friday, November 17, 2017.

The screening of the film "Lumières d'été" (2017) by Jean-Gabriel Periot is scheduled, in the presence of the director.

Program

The study day will begin at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Memorial.

Introduction by Annette Becker: "You didn’t see anything in Hiroshima, especially not at the museum."

Michaël Lucken "Drawing and photography: two mediums for two memories of the atomic bombings".

Screening of two films on Hiroshima by Jean-Gabriel Périot, in his presence:

Short film: NIJUMAN NO BOREI (200000 ghosts) 2007, 10 minutes, Color and black & white, without dialogue. (Hiroshima, 1914-2006).

Feature film: NATSU NO HIKARI (Summer Lights) 2017, 82 minutes, colors, Japanese with French subtitles.
