Exceptional visit
Exceptional visits of the hotel in Chalons-Luxembourg
The Hotel de Chalons-Luxembourg is one of the most remarkable hotels from the first half of the 17th century.
It is a late example of the brick and stone apparatus inspired by the place des Vosges built under Henry IV and an early example of the double dwelling in depth which will be the norm under Louis XIV.
The hotel de Chalons-Luxembourg is also the only private mansion in the Marais that has kept its original layout: facades on the street, courtyard and garden.
This Hotel is exceptional for its portal, one of the most illustrious of the Marais and for its facades of a polychromy in red-ochre brick and blonde stone, of a decorative richness with undeniable charm.
