The citizenship internships at the Shoah Memorial

Offences of a racist or anti-Semitic nature: what legal response should be provided to quickly and effectively punish the perpetrator while raising awareness about anti-Semitism, racism and their consequences in history?

As part of the development of alternative measures and penalties with educational value, the Memorial has established partnership agreements with the appeal courts of Paris, Lyon and Aix-en-Provence. In this context, it has developed a citizenship course for perpetrators of racist or anti-Semitic offences.

For two days, these people will participate in an educational seminar including many workshops related to both the construction processes and historical consequences of racism, antisemitism and genocides.

Proposed by the Shoah Memorial and funded by DILCRA, this internship aims to raise awareness of the evils of racism and antisemitism, at any level, to remind that these are not opinions but offenses and that they are contrary to the republican values of tolerance and fraternity of our country.
