The Memorial chosen by the European Commission in Brussels on 30 January 2017 Holocaust Remembrance and Crimes Against Humanity Prevention Day
The European Commission has chosen the Shoah Memorial to accompany in Brussels the Holocaust Remembrance and Prevention of Crimes against Humanity Day which took place on 30 January 2017. Mrs. Vera Jourova, Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Equal Opportunities, presided over the commemoration during which Claude Bloch and Paul Sobol, both deported to Auschwitz in July 44 (the first from Drancy, the second from Mechelen) gave their testimony.
The Memorial also presented an exhibition on the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex, presented by Alban Perrin, historian and educator.
