Publication: "Teaching resistance"

couv-resistance-2The history of the Resistance continues to mark and inspire our society, and its teaching occupies an unprecedented place in school curricula by combining history and citizenship. Because it was a time when the commitment of a handful of volunteers helped to change the course of our country’s history.

At a time when school curricula encourage greater awareness of civic engagement and the challenges of the Resistance, it became necessary to provide teachers with an up-to-date summary of knowledge from this period.

The book, directed by Laurent Douzou, professor of universities and Tristan Lecoq, inspector general of national education, and designed in partnership with the Foundation of the Resistance, is composed of 12 articles written by historians specialists of the period: Sébastien Albertelli, Julien Blanc, Laurent Douzou, Thomas Fontaine, Jean-Marie Guillon, Pierre Laborie, Bruno Leroux, Jean-François Muracciole, Cécile Vast.

These authors have delivered unpublished texts that allow us to better understand the history and memory of the French Resistance. Attached to this book, studies and historical documents commented by secondary school teachers are available online.
