PATH: RESISTANCES AND COMMITMENTS

Level: from 9th to 12th grade

This journey sheds light on the fate of these women and men who have decided to say no. At the Memorial, through the archives, students trace the history and memory of five women before, during and after the war. Although foreign, they question in particular the reasons that led them to fight in France, to go beyond the condition to which they had been assigned and for what recognition? At the Musée de la Libération in Paris, they reconstitute other journeys of women and men, this time from objects that bear witness to these extraordinary destinies.

Workshop: Women in resistance – cnrd

Level: from 9th to 12th grade

Themes: Female resistance, deportation, hidden children, commitment, memories.

Historical periods: World War II, history of the present time.

Media: Photographs, administrative documents, legal texts, testimonies, commemorative plaques, video extracts.

Main activities: Work in groups on archival documents, production of a leaflet about the Resistance.

During a visit, students discuss the different forms of resistance in France during the Second World War. By following the itineraries of men and women from various backgrounds, they discover the strength of their commitment, the actions taken and the risks incurred.
