Make a history of the Jewish volunteers in the two world wars

Organized with the Volunteers Commission, former Jewish combatants of the Shoah Memorial.

In order to encourage historical research on this often-overlooked history, the Shoah Memorial proposes to revisit these events and present the many documentary resources available.

In the presence of Philippe Joutard, historian, rector of an honorary academy, Rachid Azzouz, IA-IPR history and geography, Paris Academy, Agnès Chablat-Beylot, historical center of archives of the historical department of Defense, Patricia Gillet, head of the Second World War department at the National Archives, Captain Géraud Seznec, Museum of the Foreign Legion, Karen Taieb, head of archives, Shoah Memorial, Delphine Richard, PhD student in contemporary history, Arnold Bac and François Szulman, members of the Commission Volunteers Jewish veterans of the Shoah Memorial.

The future of commemorations in the 21st century

A think tank was formed on "the future of commemorations". After two years of work and the hearing of dozens of personalities from all walks of life – historians, filmmakers, directors of cultural institutions and places of memory – this group presents its recommendations and offers a new perspective on this major question of the nascent 21st century.

In the presence of the chairpersons of the reflection group, Hélène Mouchard-Zay, president, Cercil-Memorial Museum of the children of the Vel’d'Hiv, and Frédérique Neau-Dufour, director, CERD Camp Natzweiler-Struthof, as well as many contributors.
Led by Olivier Lalieu, historian, responsible for the development of places of memory and external projects, Shoah Memorial.
