Autumn University in Rwanda (level 5)

For more than twenty years, the Shoah Memorial has been working and reflecting on genocidal processes, working towards a better knowledge of 20th century genocides and mass violence in general. It is with this in mind that the training department of the Memorial organizes an autumn university in Rwanda open to 25 professors who have followed all the other universities organized by the Memorial (Paris-Toulouse, Poland, Israel, Berlin).

During 7 days, the teachers will discover the places of memory of the genocide of the Tutsi of Rwanda, in Kigali and on emblematic places. They will meet actors of the time, veterans of the Rwandan Patriotic Front and survivors but also current actors who work to manage the post-genocide. They will thus have the opportunity to discuss with specialists in the care of survivors and to understand the memory policy implemented in Rwanda since 1994.
