With the House of Izieu

The inter-museums are offered as part of partnerships between the Shoah Memorial and various institutions. These courses allow students to better understand the chosen theme.

JOURNEY: REFUGEE AND HIDDEN CHILDREN

Level: from CM2 to 5th grade

This journey traces the commitment of a Jewish resistance fighter in the rescue of children during the Second World War, then explores, through their stories, the daily life of hidden children and their families.

  • 1st session at the Shoah Memorial

Visit-workshop: The star of the fighters

Level: CM2

Themes: Occupation, exclusion, antisemitism, resistance, rescue.

Historical period: WWII.

Media: Archival documents.

Main activity: Individual plastic production.

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

  • 2nd session at the House of Izieu

Workshop: Families' Journeys

Using archives, students study the lives of several children from the colony and their families before, during and after the Second World War. In small groups, they trace the route studied on a map.

Duration: 2 hours

Rate: €69 per group at the Shoah Memorial
€4 per student (1 free guide for 10 students; additional guide €6) at the Maison d'Izieu. Possibility of financial assistance for travel: check with each institution.
