Awareness and remembrance: an essential program for educational actors in the Île-de-France region

As part of its commitment to citizenship, citizen participation, and the fight against discrimination, the Shoah Memorial, in partnership with the Île-de-France Region, is implementing an awareness program for school leaders, teachers and supervisory staff of Île-de-France high schools.

A two-step program

  • Awareness of the values of the Republic and the duty to remember Participants will benefit from training sessions in order to better understand the issues of memory and the transmission of republican values.
  • A trip to Poland (7-9 February 2025) to deepen the reflection A group of 40 secondary school teachers from the Ile-de-France regional academies will have the opportunity to visit Krakow and Auschwitz, preceded by two sessions of preparation for their choice. This trip will be an opportunity to explore the history of Jewish life before the Holocaust, to visit the camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau with guides from the Museum and supervisors from the Shoah Memorial.

A strong commitment to education and transmission

This program is an essential experience for all educational actors involved in the training of young people, giving them concrete tools to transmit the values of memory, secularism and citizenship.
