On the occasion of Yom HaShoah, the date chosen by the State of Israel for the commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust and the heroes of the Jewish Resistance during the Second World War, a 24-hour uninterrupted public reading takes place, day and night, from Sunday, May 5 to Monday, May 6, 2024.
This year are read the names of the Jews of France deported by convoys 22 to 57. Some 200 people, former deportees, parents, volunteers, children... will take turns to read, from the lists from the book Mémorial de la déportation by Serge Klarsfeld (Association des FFDJF), the names of "those whose only name remains" (Simone Veil).
