Between History and Emotion: An evening to make the voices of the 230 women from the convoy of January 24, 1943 resonate outside the walls
Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.
How to convey the inexpressible? How to honor the memory of those who have lived through horror? On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the South Toulouse branch of the Shoah Memorial invites you to a unique experience: a poignant musical reading around the famous convoy of January 24.
A sound journey at the heart of memory
It is the story of 230 women who leave Compiègne for Auschwitz. It is the story of a journey into the unknown, the horror. Some will return, 49. Some will come back and testify. Charlotte Delbo, with the help of some fellow survivors, paints a portrait of these 230 deported women. Today we want to make these disappeared voices heard, like an echo through time.
Musical reading created by Etienne Lescure and Juliette Damiens
Followed by a discussion in the presence of Delphine Barré and Elerika Leroy, historians.
Delphine Crossed out (on the left) devoted her thesis research to the trajectories of Jewish women in Paris during the Holocaust. Coordinator of educational activities at the Shoah Memorial, she was then responsible for the museum of the Resistance and the deportation of Ain. Today, she is the point of reference for Paris and Île-de-France within the system. Gateways, a service dedicated to Holocaust survivors.
Elerika Leroy (right), specialist of the Second World War in Haute-Garonne, has published several books on the subject. Public historian, she strives to share her research at conferences or through discovery tours of places of history and memory.
