The issue of the Revue d'histoire de la Shoah aims to publish articles on western Europe, in the arc including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia (but not on Germany). In these regions, the composite nature of repressive tools seems to defy any global interpretation: house arrests, detentions, internments, concentrations, targeted or random executions, deportations to killing centers or concentration camps. The logics at work and the distinct modalities of a specific genocidal violence, combined with targeted or conventional violence, are struggling to emerge.
