The Jules-Isaac Cultural Center of Clermont-Ferrand joins the Shoah Memorial in order to perpetuate its work.

The Jules-Isaac Cultural Center (CCJI) joined since the 1ster January 2021 the Shoah Memorial in order to continue its mission and activities.

Institution emblematic of the history of the Jews in Auvergne, of the memory of the Shoah and the Just, the Jules-Isaac Cultural Center has been installed since the 1ster December 2013 in the renovated premises of the historic synagogue of Clermont-Ferrand (Beit Yacov). This synagogue, inaugurated in 1862 and deconsecrated in 1966, is the oldest building of its kind in central France.

The Memorial is thus associated with a recognized regional institution whose support and educational and cultural activities have been growing every year since its inauguration in 2013.

"With this rapprochement, the Shoah Memorial and CCIJ show their common will to establish a continuity of their actions and to ensure the future of CCIJ" declared Jacques Fredj, general director of the Shoah Memorial.

In the continuation of ancient links, the two structures affirm their convergences based on common values and objectives, both culturally and educationally.

CCIJ’s actions will continue in the regions and will be fully resumed as soon as the health situation allows.
