'The Holocaust as a starting point': two operations in Sofia and Zagreb

The second Bulgarian-Macedonian educational meeting took place in Sofia from 12 to 14 September 2018, on the premises of the Jewish community, in partnership with the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs of both countries. The participants went to the forced labour camp in Breznik and worked on their divergent memories related to the deportation of the Jews from Skopje, Stip and Bitola and on stopping the process in the territories of the Old Kingdom. The work was opened by Mrs. Bachvarova, chief of staff to the Prime Minister.

Serbian and Croatian teachers meeting in Zagreb

Gathered at Zagreb for three days from the 2er on October 4, 2018, Serbian and Croatian teachers consolidated this regional dialogue initiated in 2015, focused on the mass atrocities during the Second World War and exchanged on the interactions of this era with the conflicts from the 90s. French historians Xavier Bougarel, Jean-Arnault Dérens and all the interns were received at the Residence by the Ambassador of France Corinne Meunier.

These two operations, part of the "Shoah as a starting point" programme, benefited from the support of the Europe for citizens programme and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
