From commitment to transmission: Pierre-François Veil entrusts his CDJC archives to the Mémorial actualités

On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition event "Simone Veil. My sisters and I," directed by David Teboul, the Shoah Memorial had the honor of receiving a precious archive gift from Pierre-François Veil.

Preserve the intimate and collective memory

The collection and preservation of original documents is one of our institution’s key missions. By entrusting these archives, Pierre-François Veil allows not only to document the history of the Center for Contemporary Jewish Documentation (CDJC), but also to enrich the historical knowledge of the Shoah period. These pieces join our collections to be conserved, digitized and eventually transmitted to future generations and researchers.

How to transmit your archives?

The Shoah Memorial actively pursues its mission of collecting from families. Every document — letter, photograph, administrative document or object—is an essential piece of the puzzle of our common memory.

For any submission of documents to the Shoah Memorial in Paris, a permanence is ensured on Tuesday afternoons, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, without prior appointment.
