Shot in New York and Los Angeles, this film portrays a unique and tenacious language and culture. How important is the Yiddish language to American Jews today? This film bears witness to the vitality of Yiddish through klezmer music, humor, poetry and cinema and features interviews, notably with comedian David Steinberg, actor Herschel Bernardi, writer Leo Rosten, expert Dr. Joshua Fishman, and theater producer Isaiah Sheffer.

In the presence of director Pierre Sauvage, Michèle Tauber, lecturer at the University of Paris III, and Gilles Rozier, publisher and writer.
