Shot in New York and Los Angeles, this film portrays a unique and tenacious language and culture. What is the importance of the Yiddish language for American Jews today? This film testifies to the vitality of Yiddish through klezmer music, humor, poetry and cinema and includes interviews, notably with humorist David Steinberg, comedian Herschel Bernardi, writer Leo Rosten, expert Dr. Joshua Fishman, and the theater producer Isaiah Sheffer.

In the presence of the director Pierre Sauvage, Michèle Tauber, lecturer at the University Paris III, and Gilles Rozier, editor and writer.
