Léon Placek, a survivor of the Holocaust and sportsman Kajali Susso carried the Olympic flame together in the presence of the "ambassadors of memory" as well as young people from the sports association Espoir 18. These young ambassadors formed a guard of honor on the Allée des Justes to welcome the two torchbearers. After the transmission of the flame, Kajali Susso visited the Wall of Names where the names of 76,000 Jews from France deported during the Second World War are inscribed.
These ambassadors present at the relay of the flame come from the Galilee high schools of Combs-la-Ville and Charlemagne in Paris. They worked on the history and missions carried out by the Shoah Memorial. These young people are fully engaged in a process of reflection and transmission around democratic and republican values.
The passage of the Olympic flame at the Memorial will take place without an audience.
