Paris 20th arrondissement. 2019. At the Julien Lacroix school, Amar Trabelsi’s CM1/CM2 class is working on a history paper. The students are interested in the last survivors of the Nazi raids, and their investigation is carried out by camera. Rachel, Jacques, Jean and Armand were the same age as Joseph, Farah, Louwel and Bilali in 1942. They lived in the same streets, sometimes attended the same school. A school that was one of the most affected by the Paris raids. Les Gamins de Ménilmontant mirrors the making of this collective documentary and the questions raised by this encounter between two generations.
