Paris XXe arrondissement. 2019. In the Julien Lacroix school, Amar Trabelsi’s CM1/CM2 class is working on a history lecture. The students are interested in the last survivors of the Nazi roundups, and their investigation is carried out camera by hand. Rachel, Jacques, Jean and Armand were the same age as Joseph, Farah, Louwel and Bilali in 1942. They lived in the same streets, sometimes attended the same school. A school that was one of the most affected by the roundups of Paris. Les Gamins de Ménilmontant mirrors the making of this collective documentary and the questions raised by this meeting between two generations.
