32nd commemoration of the genocide of the Tutsi commemoration
This Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the Choisy Park (Paris 13th) hosted the ceremony of the 32nd anniversary of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in Rwanda. This moment of reflection was marked by the committed speeches of Emmanuel Grégoire, Mayor of Paris, and Marcel Kabanda, President of Ibuka France. The testimony of Yvonne Buhikare, a survivor, particularly moved the audience, recalling the absolute necessity to carry the voice of the survivors.
Transmission was at the heart of this morning with the tribute paid by students from Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye, illustrating the crucial role of youth in preserving memory.
The ceremony ended with a symbolic wreath laying in which many institutions participated. Among them, the Shoah Memorial, represented by its director Jacques Fredj, reaffirmed through its presence the solidarity and unity of institutions in the face of crimes against humanity.
