Modestly, we hope to allow researchers to work on these subjects and then also, to allow students, youth, to take possession of its archival documents to conduct educational work.

The Shoah Memorial inaugurated the Raphael Lemkin Center on genocides in the presence of Jean Damascène Bizimana, Minister of National Unity and Civic Engagement of Rwanda, and Philibert Gakwenzire, president of Ibuka Rwanda.

This inauguration marks a new stage for the Shoah Memorial which opens its documentation to historians in order to encourage and promote research on the mechanisms and history of genocides.

The Raphael Lemkin Center gathers the archives of the Armenian genocide, the Holocaust and the Tutsi genocide.

The president of the EHESS, Romain Huret, recalled the importance of archives in understanding situations of violence. This partnership aims to nurture "extraordinary" human adventures.

The historian Hélène Dumas, CNRS CESPRA, argued that the archives will allow drawing the new historiographical outlines of the genocide.
