Inauguration of the new exhibition "The Art Market under the Occupation, 1940 – 1944"

Tuesday, March 19, the minister of culture, Franck Riester, came to inaugurate our new exhibition «The Art Market under the Occupation, 1940 – 1944». He was able to discover the exhibition in the presence of curator and art historian Emmanuelle Polack.

After an inaugural speech delivered by Eric de Rothschild, president of the Memorial, the minister recalled the creation of a research structure for stolen works. Mission entrusted to David Zivie who will examine all the restitution files, with the clear objective of shedding light on the works preserved in museums and the active research of rights-holders.
