Inauguration of the new exhibition "Le Marché de l'art sous l'Occupation, 1940 – 1944"

On Tuesday 19 March, the Minister of Culture, Franck Riester, came to inaugurate our new exhibition "Le Marché de l'art sous l'Occupation, 1940 – 1944". He was able to discover the exhibition in the presence of the curator and art historian Emmanuelle Polack.

After an inaugural speech delivered by Eric de Rothschild, president of the Memorial, the minister recalled the creation of a research structure for despoiled works. Mission entrusted to David Zivie who will examine all the restitution files, with the clear objective of shedding light on the works preserved in museums and the active research of the rights-holders.
