Inauguration of the exhibition "August Sander. Persecuted/Persecutors, Men of the 20th century"

On 8 March 2018, the Memorial inaugurated its new exhibition dedicated to the work of the German photographer August Sander, in the presence of his grandson and great-grandson: Gerhard and Julian Sander.

After an inaugural speech delivered by Eric de Rothschild, president of the Memorial, Michel Guerrin, editor-in-chief of Le Monde, led a conference in the auditorium of the Memorial with Gerhard Sander and Julian Sander (August Sander Foundation), Werner Jung, director of the Documentation Center on Nazism, Cologne and Alain Sayag, honorary curator, Centre Pompidou.

The public then went to the exhibition located on the first floor of the Shoah Memorial to discover the portraits of August Sander.
