Launch of the NESHAMA program: Network of European Youth Ambassadors for Shoah Remembrance news

At the initiative of the Shoah Memorial with the support of the European Commission, the Neshama project aims to ensure the sustainability of the memory of the Shoah through the commitment of young generations.

For its first edition in 2026, Neshama brings together young ambassadors from France, Germany, Croatia, Greece and Poland, as well as institutional partners, schools, students across Europe and memory sites.

In particular:

  •  Memorial for the victims of the Langenstein-Zwieberge concentration camp, which represents Germany
  • Jasenovac Memorial and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth which represent Croatia
  • Shoah Memorial and the Deportation Martyrs' Memorial, which represent France
  • Jewish Museum of Greece and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, which represents Greece
  • Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, which represents Poland

The program officially began this Sunday with the 1st European Encounter in Paris, which will take place from January 25 to 28, 2026.
