The Immortals new

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camps, the Shoah Memorial pays tribute to the last survivors through a series of five unpublished videos made by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.

Each film stages the encounter between a young person and a survivor.

In these exchanges, Larissa Cain, Judith Elkán Hervé, Ginette Kolinka, Yvette Lévy and Léon Placek share their experiences of anti-Semitic persecutions and deportation. By conversing with young people, they offer an intimate and lively transmission of their story.

Alongside these videos, the Shoah Memorial offers a series of 14 podcasts from the five film shoots. Available on all platforms, these podcasts cover most of the exchanges between these young people and the witnesses.

The exhibition The Immortals

To complete the videos, the Shoah Memorial invites visitors to discover the rich and essential personal archives of the last witnesses of the Shoah through an exhibition.

At the center of this exhibition, a phrase resonates strongly: "I promise to be the memory of your memory."  This quote, pronounced by the young person at the end of each film, symbolizes the commitment of each new generation to perpetuate the memory of the Shoah.

The exhibition will also offer an interactive terminal, where visitors can record themselves (face and voice) by reciting this same promise.

Free admission, the exhibition is visible at the entresol of the Shoah Memorial in Paris
