Testifying for the Future: The Shoah Memorial Hosts the International Live2Tell news

The Shoah Memorial was recently the scene of an exceptional and deeply moving day dedicated to the international photographic and documentary project Live2Tell.

Led by the world-renowned American photographer Gillian Laub and her producer Kira Pollack, Live2Tell aims to collect testimonies and portraits of Holocaust survivors around the world.

This day, marked by intense reflection, saw 62 survivors of the Shoah accept to be photographed at the Memorial. Beyond the portraits, they participated in deep and sensitive interviews, sharing their current questioning and their message of hope for the young generations.

Among the witnesses honored that day were six emblematic survivors of the camps and ghettos: Larissa Cain, Esther Senot, Ginette Kolinka, Evelyn Askolovitch, Frania Haverland and Arlette Woland. Their presence and commitment are an invaluable gift for the transmission of memory.

The full success of this project was made possible thanks to the total mobilization of the Shoah Memorial. The teams, in particular the documentalists, as well as the valuable commitment of the volunteers, interns and volunteers, provided essential support throughout the day.

The Memorial also wishes to express its deep gratitude to the associations Passerelles and UDA for their logistical support and the trust they have shown in this collaboration.

The Memorial extends its sincere thanks to the Claims Conference, to Dr. Ruth Kinet and Cornelia Levy, as well as to Gillian Laub and Kira Pollack, initiators of this fundamental project.

The Live2Tell project will continue its journey to meet survivors from around the world. These powerful portraits should soon be the subject of international exhibitions, notably in Paris, Berlin, Miami and New York, thus ensuring a wide dissemination of these vital testimonies.
