Live2Tell: The Shoah Memorial accompanies photographer Gillian Laub in her project of portraits of survivors actualités
On Tuesday, April 14, Gillian Laub, an internationally renowned American photographer, returned to the Shoah Memorial to return a copy of her photographs taken on November 12 for the survivors of the Holocaust as part of the Live2Tell project.
62 survivors of the Shoah agreed to be photographed that day at the Shoah Memorial, but also to answer a deep and sensitive interview about their questioning today and their hope for the younger generations.
Among them are 6 survivors of the camps and ghettos: Larissa Cain, Esther Senot, Ginette Kolinka, Evelyn Askolovitch, Frania Haverland and Arlette Woland. The Shoah Memorial has been fully mobilized to support this project thanks to the work of its documentalists, as well as the commitment of volunteers, interns and volunteers present during the day.
The Shoah Memorial extends its sincere thanks to the Claims Conference, Dr. Ruth Kinet and Cornelia Levy, as well as to the associations Passerelles and UDA for their valuable support and the trust shown throughout this collaboration; he also expresses his gratitude to Gillian Laub and Kira Pollack for having chosen the Memorial as a place of remembrance, meeting and transmission for this international project.
Live2Tell is an international project that meets survivors from around the world, led by internationally renowned American photographer Gillian Laub and her producer Kira Pollack. These portraits will soon be exhibited in Paris, Berlin, Miami and New York.
