Ginette Kolinka, a Holocaust survivor, was deported to Auschwitz in April 1944 at the age of 19 with her father, brother and nephew.
They are murdered when the convoy arrives. Ginette, on the other hand, is selected for work.
For two decades, she accompanied groups at Auschwitz, until October 2020 when she accompanied students to Birkenau for the last time. Also included in this visit are a comic book author and a journalist. From this trip a comic strip is born, in which Ginette tells what was her life before, during and after the Holocaust. She also testifies for all those who did not return. A tireless memory setter, she makes passing on to younger generations her daily struggle.
Based on the comic strips, the exhibition places Ginette Kolinka’s journey into a broader history of persecution.
of Jews in France during the Second World War, based on period documents, archives, and photographs.
