73 years ago, on March 27, 1944, Hélène Berr was deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp with her parents Antoinette and Raymond. It’s also the day of his 23 years. Two years earlier, the young woman started writing a diary while the persecution against the Jews is increasing day after day in the capital.
The Mémorial de la Shoah, in partnership with Editions Tallandier and Audiolib, and thanks to Mariette Job, niece of Hélène Berr, created a journey through the streets of Paris to discover the story of this young girl, a student during the Holocaust. The walking tour lasts 2h30 and guides you through the Parisian districts, to different emblematic places such as the Sorbonne or the Luxembourg gardens.
To follow this course, you will need to download the free Guidigo application on your mobile or tablet (works on Android and iOS). The Hélène Berr course is also free. Once downloaded, the course is accessible without an internet connection, including the map. Thus, you can always orient yourself thanks to the integrated GPS and augmented reality on your mobile or tablet and start your guided tour in the footsteps of Hélène Berr.
