Record attendance for the Memorial in 2017!

257,000 visitors came to the Shoah Memorial in Paris and its branch in Drancy in 2017. In Paris, the Shoah Memorial welcomed 228,900 visitors, up 23% compared to the previous year, while its branch in Drancy welcomed 28,300 visitors, up 18%. The Shoah Memorial has achieved its best attendance since its reopening in 2005.

The overall attendance at the Shoah Memorial has been driven by a rich program, with flagship exhibitions such as Shoah and Comics, The Klaus Barbie and Beate Trial, and Serge Klarsfeld. The battles of memory. The Drancy branch also celebrated its 5th anniversary, with an exceptional exhibition Drancy, Au seuil de l'enfer – Drawings by Georges Horan-Koiransky.

The primary mission of the Shoah Memorial, the various educational visits and workshops have welcomed more than 60,000 students from all over France, a figure up by 20% compared to 2016.

The Shoah Memorial strengthened with the integration of the Cercil

In 2018, the Cercil joined the Shoah Memorial. An emblematic association committed to the preservation of the history and memory of the internment camps in Orléans, the Cercil has been managing the Musée-mémorial des enfants du Vel d'Hiv since 2011.

Through this rapprochement, the Shoah Memorial and the Cercil bear witness to their shared desire to ensure the sustainability of the Cercil’s activity.

The Shoah and Comics catalog rewarded

The catalogue of the exhibition Shoah et Bande Dessinée, curated by Didier Pasamonik and Joël Kotek, has been awarded a special mention at the 2017 CatalPa Prize.
