The Academy of Corsica and the Shoah Memorial renew their partnership news

The Academy of Corsica and the Shoah Memorial renewed, this Monday, September 29, 2025, the agreement that binds them since 2019. This essential partnership strengthens citizenship education and memory work with students.

This new commitment is directly part of the National Plan to Combat Racism and Anti-Semitism (December 2023), aimed at ensuring a historical or memorial visit for each student during their schooling.

Thanks to this collaboration, the Academy maintains an ambitious program of actions:

  • Regular memory trips to the Shoah Memorial in Paris and to major historical sites (such as the visit to Auschwitz by a class from the Balagne high school in April 2025).
  • Continuous training for teachers, supported by the Memorial since 2015.
  • Workshops «Hors les murs» deployed in Corsica since 2017, facilitating access to knowledge and reflection.

This partnership is a priority for the Academy, which thus reaffirms its fundamental role in transmitting the values of the Republic and the fight against all forms of discrimination.

In the presence of RémiFrançois Paollini, rector of the Corsica region – rector of the Corsican academy and chancellor of universities; Pierre Savelli, Mayor of the city of Bastia; Michel Prosic, Prefect of Haute-Corse; and Jacques Fredj, director of the Shoah Memorial.
