Back in pictures on the 5th edition of the Shoah Memorial Book Fair
In the spring, the Memorial invited you to celebrate the book and welcomed authors, researchers, editors and publishers, actors and actresses around recently published books that have marked us as so many favorites.
Over the course of a weekend, many events were planned in all areas of the Memorial: large open-air bookstore on the forecourt, literary meetings, signatures, readings, guided family tour of the exhibition Spirou in the turmoil of the Shoah, book sale...
For this fifth edition, we honored the editions Tallandier and our partner, the newspaper Télérama, to whom we gave carte blanche for two meetings.
Saturday, we organized a TikTok Live with the teams of TikTok France. @julescommecesar interviewed Joann Sfar, author of "les enfants ne se laissaient pas faire", Editions Gallimard BD.
Judith Simony, editorial director of Editions Tallandier and at the origin of the publication of "Correspondance d'Hélène Berr et Odile Neuburger" also participated in TikTok Live. She also intervened during the carte blanche of the Tallandier editions.
Odelia Kammoun, the illustrator of the poster for the Book Fair, was there to sign the poster.
Mariette Job, editor of her aunt Hélène Berr’s diary presents her latest book "Dans les pas d'Hélène Berr", published by Editions Le bord de l'eau.
Isabelle Carré read with emotion several texts by Edith Bruck, survivor, witness, free and rebellious woman.
Jerry Stahl, novelist and scriptwriter for TV and American cinema, presented his latest book "Nein Nein! La dépression, les tourments de l'âme et la Shoah en autocar", a road trip memorial published by Editions Payot and Editions Rivages.
Sonya Mellah was the master of ceremonies at the Book Fair. Her voice punctuated the various events and guided the visitors present.
Laurent Joly, historian and author of "Cabu. The roundup of the Vel d'Hiv' and the "Cas Darquier de Pellepoix" participated in the meeting around the Tallandier editions.
François Heilbronn, author of "Deux étés 44" (Stock editions) and Ariane Bois, author of "This country we call life" (Plon editions), were side by side to meet their readers.
Michelle Perrot, a great feminist historian, and Eduardo Castillo, co-authors of the book "Le Temps des féminismes" (édutions Grasset) met for a passionate exchange with Annette Wieviorka author of "Tombeaux" (éditions du Seuil).
