Seminar for history teachers in Dakar

The Mémorial de la Shoah and the Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Etranger organized a seminar in Dakar (Senegal) for all history teachers from West Africa teaching in the French system (photo 3). These AEFE establishments welcome on average 60% of foreign students, but the proportion is even higher in this region. The interventions focused on the curriculum dealing with the Holocaust and genocides. At the end of these two days of training, Hélène Dumas and Pascal Zachary conducted a workshop for first-year students on authentic documents from the genocide of the Tutsi (photos 2 and 3). In addition, Joël Kotek debated with the high school students (photo 4) on the legal and historical concepts related to genocides.
