Serbia: The Memorial co-organizes a training for 40 teachers

From 20 to 23 September 2017, the Shoah Memorial and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia organized a training focused on mass atrocities in the Balkans in Nis, southern Serbia for 40 teachers.

The participants were able to visit the internment camp of Crveni Krst. The program mainly involved historians from the region. Christophe Tarricone spoke on the use of still images in class and the historical European framework of the Holocaust. The Memorial is already engaged in a long-term project in this key country of the Western Balkans: initial training at the University of Belgrade and transnational partnership involving the ministries of education of the former Yugoslavia.
