Synopsis:

Simone Veil au naturel. With her friend Marceline Loridan-Ivens, she evokes the memories of his deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau. To the one who lived through hell by his side, she talks about her mother and sister, she tells about her despair at finding them with her in concentration camp, her daily struggle to survive by stealing sugar or a few potatoes, the typhus of the one she loved more than anything else in the world, his inevitable death. Simone Veil at Auschwitz today. She walks in this camp where she spent thirteen months of her life. Through the images of this documentary, from her own confidences or those of her relatives, Simone Veil agrees to lift the veil on what she is deep within herself. Through this magnificent portrait reveals the deep truth of a woman haunted by the painful memories of many months spent in deportation and by the absence of her mother.
