During the school holidays, from April 18 to May 3, 2026, the educational team of the Shoah Memorial offers various workshops adapted to the concerns and sensitivity of young audiences.

A story to draw, a memory to write: Simone Veil. My sisters and I

Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2 p.m.

For families (children from 10 years old)

At the end of the guided tour of the Simone Veil exhibition, my sisters and I retrace the destiny of the Jacob family. The adults are introduced to epistolary writing while the children illustrate with a comic strip an important episode in the life of the Jacob family.

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In this workshop, adults and children participate in a complementary activity. Each participant must reserve their place.

The Courageous Fight by Alfred Nakache, a swimmer and survivor of Auschwitz

Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 2 p.m. 

For families (children from 10 years old)

Literary discovery 

The story of Alfred Nakache (1915-1983), a Jewish athlete who was multiple times French swimming champion. He beat the Nazis at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, was deported in 1943 and participated in the London Olympics on his return. His life is an example of strength and courage in the face of barbarism. He survives by and for sport.”

This activity will be preceded by a guided tour of the Memorial, the discovery of a children’s literature work and archival documents. Each child must be accompanied by an adult (who must also reserve their place).

Rachel, survivor of the Hiv’s Vel roundup

Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 2 p.m.

On September 3, 1939, the life of Rachel, a five-year-old Jewish child, is turned upside down. She is treated differently in the streets and at school. But she’s not the only one! Like thousands of Jewish people, Rachel and her family will move and protect each other until the day of the Vel d'Hiv roundup.”
