High school student vision 2025/2026: Restitution of study trips to Auschwitz

On March 26, 2026, nearly 600 high school students from Île-de-France met at the headquarters of the Île-de-France Region to present 32 graphic creations inspired by their visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in Poland during their school year.

The day was also marked by the interventions of Catherine Michaud, special delegate for the fight against discrimination, racism and antisemitism and Jacques Fredj, director of the Shoah Memorial.

«In a while, you will become full citizens, it will now be up to you. But know that freedom and democracy are never definitively acquired. – Jacques Fredj

Each year, the Île-de-France Region allows high school students and apprentices to participate in this study tour, part of an educational project around the duty of remembrance.

Carried out in partnership with the Shoah Memorial, these trips play an essential role in transmitting the history of the Shoah to younger generations.

Upon their return, the students translate this experience by designing themed panels. Supervised by their teachers, they combine personal reflection, historical elements and visual support to testify to what they have seen, felt and understood.
