Commissioner Magnus Brunner on a visit to the Shoah Memorial news

On Friday 29 August, Commissioner Magnus Brunner visited the Shoah Memorial, accompanied by its director, Jacques Fredj.

This visit was the occasion for a tour through the main places of memory: the Wall of Names, where are engraved the names of the victims deported from France, the crypt, the Wall of the Just, which pays tribute to the Just among the Nations, as well as the Children’s Memorial and the digital monument.

At the end of this moment of reflection, Magnus Brunner made a wreath-laying ceremony, a solemn gesture in memory of the victims, before signing the Memorial’s guest book.

Through this visit, the commissioner testified to the importance of the memory of the Shoah and the essential role of the Memorial in transmitting history and fighting against oblivion.
