Commissioner Magnus Brunner visiting the Shoah Memorial news

On Friday 29 August, Commissioner Magnus Brunner went to the Shoah Memorial, accompanied by its director, Jacques Fredj.

This visit was the occasion for a journey through the main places of memory: the Wall of Names, where are engraved the names of the victims deported from France, the crypt, the Wall of the Righteous, which pays tribute to the Righteous among the Nations, as well as the Children’s Memorial and the digital monument.

At the end of this moment of meditation, Magnus Brunner made a wreath deposit, a solemn gesture in memory of the victims, before signing the golden book of the Memorial.

Through this visit, the Commissioner testified to the importance of the memory of the Shoah and the essential role of the Memorial in transmitting history and the fight against forgetting.
