Every year, on the occasion of Yom HaShoah, the Shoah Memorial pays tribute to the 6 million Jews who died during the Second World War.
On 23 and 24 April, the Shoah Memorial, Judaism in Movement (JEM), the Association of Sons and Daughters of Jewish Deportees from France (FFDJF), the Consistoire de Paris and the Consistoire de France organized, under the aegis of the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah (FMS), the reading of the names of Jews deported from France and a series of commemorative and educational events.
During an uninterrupted 24-hour public reading, the names of all the deportees – man, woman, child – are pronounced one by one. This year, the names of the Jews deported from France were read by convoys 58 to 4 and 63 to 71.
