They are three sisters: Madeleine, known as Milou, Denise and Simone. They live a happy childhood in Nice before the Second World War broke their happiness. Denise joins the Resistance and will be deported to Ravensbrück. Simone, Milou, and Yvonne, their mother, are arrested and deported to Auschwitz. Yvonne dies in Bergen-Belsen. Milou returns exhausted and sick. Simone resists everything. From their father, André, and their brother Jean, they hope to hear news. They will not return. Based on unpublished correspondence and family diaries, the film tells the tragic fate of the Jacob sisters, the intimate experience of the hell of the camps and life after.
