Inaugural conference: the intimacy of a memory

Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 7 p.m.

As part of the exhibition Simone Veil. My sisters and I

David Teboul met Simone Veil in 2003. Their exchanges triggered a slow process of recollection. By relying on recordings of unreleased interviews as well as personal and family archives, David Teboul intends to “depoliticize” Simone Veil and offer a renewed view of her, sometimes in contradiction with the public image that the media have created.

How did the dialogue between Simone Veil and David Teboul open new perspectives in the approach to the history of the Shoah, the history of the Jews, and the history of France? The aim is to better understand the forms through which David Teboul navigates: literature, photography, cinema, sound design, museography. David Teboul, filmmaker, artist and author, curator of the exhibition Simone Veil.

In conversation with Rebecca Manzoni, producer at France Inter.

In the presence of Mathieu Lericq, senior lecturer at Lumière Lyon 2 University, and PierreFrançois Veil, president of the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah.
