The sisters Jacob, Denise, Simone and Madeleine, known as "Milou", grew up in Nice, surrounded by a loving mother, Yvonne, a beloved brother, Jean, and a father, André, an architect and republican. They go through their childhood and adolescence in a cocoon, lulled by the beauty and sweetness of the Mediterranean. The defeat of France and collaboration precipitated the Jacob family into poverty and persecution, until deportation. Drawing on family correspondence and archives, this choral graphic narrative tells the lives of three sisters with exceptional temperaments, the immense tenderness that united them, and their inexhaustible courage.
