In 1936, at the birth of his son, Robert Bernas bought an 8 mm Eumig camera in Vienna and began filming as an amateur. In 1938, it is the 'Anschluss'. Robert takes pictures of the events and his family who will flee to Paris, exile to the United States via Algeria, Morocco and Portugal to return to France in 1947.
