In 1936, at the birth of his son, Robert Bernas bought an 8 mm Eumig camera in Vienna and began to film as an amateur. In 1938, it was the “Anschluss.” Robert takes live images of events and his family who fled to Paris, exiled to the United States via Algeria, Morocco and Portugal to return to France in 1947.
