"Shoah", after Lanzmann Avant-Première

On the occasion of the release of Shoah, after Lanzmann. Archives, témoignages, réceptions, edited by Rémy Besson and EmmanuelLevine, PUR, 2026.

Since its theatrical release in 1985, Shoah has become a must-see work that sparked many debates on cinematic representations of the genocide. Defending his political and aesthetic choices, Claude Lanzmann played an essential role in making his film a shared reference. His death in 2018 marked an important turning point in the perception of the film. This collective investigation intends to show what becomes of Shoah and how to transmit it today.

In the presence of the project directors and Caroline Champetier (subject), assistant to William Lubtchansky, director of photography for Shoah.

In conversation with Guido Furci, lecturer in literature at the Sorbonne Nouvelle university.
